and i made oatmeal and chocolate chips cookies.. it came out soft.. and good.. but it kind of taste like bread.. and it told to add applesause to it.. So if i wanted my cookies to be hard..i should keep in the over longer right or what should i do.. My husband said it was good but it taste like bread.. it there way it doesn't taste like bread.. and i follow the recipe... And it was thick too.. so i am not sure what went wrong.. it came out alright.... and i am first time cookie maker...i am making a lot of different cookies.. for christmas for my friends and family.. so hope my next cookie would not be like bread... and i would try the idea of putting more butter.. and the recipe i follow was only putting 1 4 cups...and i did.. and it still came out like cookie but when i took bite it taste little cookie...

Is it possible to make an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe, split the dough in half before adding the oatmeal and take one half of the dough and just make chocolate chip cookies and then take the other half, add the oatmeal half of what the recipe calls for and make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies?Half my friends wants chocolate chip cookies and half want oatmeal chocolate chip cookie but I didn't want to make 2 separate batches...if anyone can help me, please do Thanks
